Potter County History

It is important that the people of a nation or of a region understand their heritage.  We learn from the past so that we will be less likely to repeat its mistakes.

We, as a people, should know where we have been before we determine where we want to go.

You are welcome in the Society's rooms, which have been established for your use and enjoyment.  It is hoped you will leave with a greater understanding and appreciation of what our forefathers did for us.

If you have questions, please ask.  Our members are here to help you.

Thank you for visiting Potter County history.

The PCHS Objectives
  1. To collect, organize and preserve records and relics pertaining to Potter County.
  2. To stimulate interest in the development of Potter County from the pioneer era to the present time

  4. To provide a place suitable for its valuable collections and for holding the stated and special meetings of the Society

THE MANN MEMORIAL FOUNTAIN
originally erected over 100 years ago
in front of the Mann House, at the site of what is now the US Post Office, on Main Street across from the Society's Headquarters.

It is now being refurbished and will be located on the grounds of the  Society.  We need funds to complete this project.  All donations are greatly appreciated.
